Urbit ID NFT Overview

Urbit is a new operating system and peer-to-peer network that’s simple by design, built to last forever, and 100% owned by its users.

Urbit ID is a decentralized addressing and public key infrastructure designed for Urbit OS.

An Urbit ID is a short, four-syllable name that each user owns with an eight-syllable master passkey. This name and key lets users log into Urbit OS, and it’s used to encrypt packets that users send over the Urbit network.

Over time, Urbit will grow into a system that can bring together all our different modes of communicating: chat, payments, documents, images, and biometric data.
