OpenSea Adds Support for Social & Gaming Blockchain

OpenSea has added support for Arbitrum's social and gaming chain, Arbitrum Nova, according to an announcement from the platform.

Why It Matters: While Arbitrum Nova is a newer chain, announced on August 9, it is primarily aimed at gaming, social media, and NFT-related projects. To the extent that notable gaming is developed on this chain in the future, OpenSea is now positioned to handle trading for it.

The Big Picture: The future landscape of blockchain gaming has yet to take shape in 2023. But in 2022, famous video game companies such as Square Enix, the creator of the iconic Final Fantasy franchise, invested in numerous business strategic cooperations in blockchain and cloud services, including Animoca Brands-owned The Sandbox.
