Uniswap Labs Introduce NFT Smart Contract Upgrades

Uniswap Labs announced the release of two new smart contracts on Thursday, which promote added flexibility, gas efficiency, and security for the ERC20 token approval and swapping process.

The two contracts, Permit2 and Universal Router, were detailed in the platform's blog:

  1. Permit2 allows token approvals to be shared and managed across different applications creating a more unified, cost-efficient, and safer UX.

  2. Universal Router unifies ERC20 and NFT swapping into a single swap router. Integrated with Permit2, users can swap multiple tokens and NFTs in one swap while saving on gas fees.

Uniswap's releases are open-source, and can be used across Ethereum, Optimism, Arbitrum, Polygon, and Celo blockchains, according to the update.
