Curio Cards NFT Overview
Project Information
Curio Cards was an online art show for digital artists and collectors. The art for Curio Cards is displayed on what resembles a traditional playing card, hence Curio “Cards.”
First launched in May, 2017, Curio Cards pre-dates both CryptoPunks and CryptoKitties, featuring 30 unique series of cards from 7 different artists. Ahead of their time, the project’s goal was to use Ethereum to create a new model for digital artwork ownership.
Initially kept a secret, the artists featured on the Curio Cards platform are:

- CRYPTOGRAFFITI
- MARISOL VENGAS
- DANIEL FRIEDMAN
- ROBEK WORLD
- CRYPTOPOP
Given the age of the project, Curio Cards need to be wrapped to work with OpenSea. “Wrapping,” upgrades the card, placing it inside a newer contract which is OpenSea compatible.
On October 1st, 2021, Christie’s is auctioning off an entire unique set of all 30 Curio Cards.
