After submitting a bid to purchase Spey Bay Golf Course in Scotland late last month, LinksDAO let its members know today that its bid had been accepted and the project will move forward with its purchase, as team member Cooper noted in a Discord message earlier today, "WE WON THE BID. We're buying a golf course."

Amidst all the talk about NFT projects failing to provide utility, LinksDAO has now accomplished exactly what it set out to achieve when it launched over a year ago with today's announcement.

- While the purchase price is not yet known, the golf course's listing noted there had been "offers over £750,000" (about $908,000 USD).
- Before LinksDAO placed an offer, the project had polled its holders on the plan, with more than 88% of voters expressing their support of the bid to purchase Spey Bay.
- LinksDAO also has plans to purchase a US golf course, and the team said last month that a potential purchase of Spey Bay would not affect their ability to move forward in the US.

Links Play, the LinksDAO benefits network, extended access to more than 450 golf and social clubs in North America for community members, according to an announcement from the project.
The Deets
- The benefit is opt-in for all Links Global tier members and available at an extra fee for Leisure tier members.
- Each club can be visited up to three times per twelve-month period.
- All golf is available on a space-available basis.
- Members may bring up to three accompanied guests.
- Reservations must be made through the Golf Concierge by online request form or via the phone.
- Payment is made via credit or debit card for you and your guests at the time of booking.

LinksDAO has taken the "country club model" of web3 community literally, earning its members exclusive access to golf courses worldwide. The addition of more than 450 courses in North America will ensure that even more opportunity is provided to the community, which does have geogrpahical restrictions based on the network benefit.

The Champions get holders access to chats in the LinksDAO community and "more," according to the project.
The rarest LinksDAO Champions are made of crystal or "were glitched during the storm" and hold elementally powered clubs, the project said.
Gear and outfits will be able to be purchased through the Links Pro Shop.
