The crypto markets were down Monday as BTC dipped below $40K and ETH below $3K ahead of Tuesday's inflation numbers.

The NFT market was also down Monday, as 18 of the top 20 PFP projects were in the red over the last 24 hours. Perhaps this is tied to the liquidity tie-up related to the pending Moonbirds launch this weekend and Yuga Land drop coming sometime in April.

The Yuga ecosystem was the lone bright spot Monday, as both BAYC and MAYC were up three percent on the day, currently holding 113 ETH and 26.2 ETH floors respectively. The native social token $APE was also up seven percent on the day, holding $11.60 at time of writing.

The surge here was tied to two major announcements released Monday: 1) a cryptic message from Coinbase implying that the Yuga Land sale may be conducted on the Coinbase NFT marketplace and 2) the announcement of a 3-part movie trilogy featuring Bored Apes to be produced by Coinbase.

Other top market movers from Monday include mostly new projects:

  • Official Kreepy Club: 1080 ETH volume, 0.2 ETH floor
  • Los Muertos World: 1060 ETH volume, 0.49 ETH floor
  • notBanksyEchoes: 580 ETH volume, 0.62 ETH floor
  • Dennis Rodman's Barbershop: 517 ETH volume, 0.15 ETH floor

As we move on to look at today, there are a few catalysts coming that could bring some liquidity to the NFT market overall: Candy Digital MLB, Forgotten Runes "Beasts" and VeeFriends Series 2.

Candy Digital MLB Leadoff Series

Candy Digital is dropping their Leadoff Series MLB pack drop today at 10:00 am ET (early access) and noon ET for the public. There will be 60,000 packs, with five cards per pack and a price tag of $50.

Describing itself as "a next generation digital collectible company offering digital assets for fans and collectors," Candy has its own marketplace for secondary trading and allows credit card purchases for an easy onboarding experience.

Previous pack drops have performed well on the secondary market.

Forgotten Runes "Beasts" Are Released

"RELEASE THE BEAST!" is the mantra shared by the Forgotten Runes Wizard team ahead of Monday's major "Beasts" drop, which will take part in three phases.

The first step will be to unlock the gate, the conduct beast auctions, and then spawn the beasts (full detail in thread below).

The Wizards NFT set holds a 2.5 ETH floor at the time of writing and one of the strongest "cult" communities in the NFT space.

VeeFriends Series 2 Opens Mint

One of the most anticipated NFT project drops of April is VeeFriends Series 2 from notable NFT personality Gary Vee, whose inaugural NFT set VeeFriends 1 is one of the original "blue chip" projects in the NFT space and commands a 12 ETH floor.

Gary is famous for saying "the NFT space doesn't have a supply problem, it has a demand problem," and he is putting that theory to the test by launching VeeFriends 2 with a 55,555 supply priced at $995 (~0.35 ETH at time of writing).

Given his Book Games NFTs managed to hold a floor of 0.204 ETH with 125K supply, there could be ample demand for this new drop.

The mint starts today, for VeeFriends Series 1 owners (free claim) and for those who made it on to the "Friends List."

There will be a two week window to mint, culminating with the public sale for the remainder on April 25, with the reveal coming after sellout.

With these high profile drops, and some relatively high volatility in the markets right now, it should be an interesting day.

Good luck out there!
