🚀 Fantasy Top Changes The Game

Fantasy Top took the Blast ecosystem and broader crypto degen base by storm in the past 2 weeks.

Their social media influender fantasy game was a novel idea, and it seems to have found some real demand.

And changes announced for this upcoming week should see that demand continue to rise.

What Happened?

The Fantasy Top team made a series of big announcements yesterday ahead of this week of action.

First, the timeline:

• May 13: Introduction of new Hero Score v0.3
• May 14: Main Tournament 2 to begin (333k Blast Gold in prizes)
• May 16: First "Common Cards only" sub-tournament (with a twist)

Along with the timeline, the team also shared:

• The new Heroes 2 Cohort
• More information on card distribution and how the inflation works
• New Heroes Rewards including 1.5% fee on volume, 10% share of pack sales, free cards and Gold/fan points

It was a lot to unpack.

First reaction - the introduction of the Common Only tourney and that it would be concurrent (running at the same time) was the blockbuster news here.

If one assumes 15k entries in both tourneys, that would mean ~150k cards locked in teams. That's a huge supply crunch.

The new Heroes score change is huge as well, as its going to change the reach scoring component and favor bigger accounts along with frequent posters.

Market Response

Not surprisingly, the floor has pumped since this announcement.

The overall card floor is at 0.015 ETH and up nearly 100% off local lows (~5x from 9 days ago).

Packs have been steadily increasing in price, now at 0.43 ETH, meaning demand there isn't slowing down.

Other notable stats (from Hildobby's flipside page):

• 13,126 ETH in total trading volume ($38.8M)
• 21.1k weekly users
• 3,974 ETH in treasury ($11.8M)
• Total card supply at 217k (+9% on week)

It will telling how tournament entries go this week.

If they can see similar entry size as last week (~19k entries), then prices are likely to boom.

The other factor to watch is the "twist" coming for the Common-only tournament.

Some have predicted limits on types of cards which can be used (5-star and below), NFT PFPs only or even some kind of burn tactic (burn 1 card to enter, burn all cards played).

As long as the team doesn't make any major errors, they should continue to see major success.

They still have 2.5M Blast Gold to give out (and are likely to get even more IMO).

And there's nothing else to do in this market.

Crypto is chopping, memecoins are quiet, NFTs are going sideways or down.

This is the main game in town right now - expect the degens to keep playing.
