The Details:
Goblintown Season 2, or "Big Inc," is a 15,000-unit sequel to the Goblintown collection and aims to celebrate the culture and community of web3 by rewarding the "worst traders in NFT land." To determine eligibility, Truth Labs will analyze wallet data and rank traders on the "Down Bad Board," a leaderboard of the worst traders in the space. The top 1,000 worst traders will have a 24-hour window to mint their Big Inc NFTs for free.
Holders of other Truth Labs collections (Goblintown, Grumpl, and Illuminati) will also enjoy the privilege of minting for free, depending on what combination of NFTs they possess, by way of receiving Big Inc acceptance letters. Additionally, Goblintown Season 2 will offer discounts for traders paying with the popular meme coin $PEPE. The mint price is 0.096 ETH, but those who pay with $PEPE will get 50% off and instead pay 0.048 ETH.
❗ Why It Matters
The appetite for another collection of 15,000 in this market remains to be seen. But by giving less successful traders priority, Goblintown Season 2 is introducing a unique mechanic that seems pretty out there, but it's a new concept nonetheless.
Additionally, offering discounts for using $PEPE brings utility to the meme coin and showcases the interconnectivity of NFTs and other cryptocurrencies.
