Participants who visited the GEISAI 2021 venue and Murakami.Flower holders both received a commemorative NFT airdrop today, according to project founder Takashi Murakami on Twitter.
The GEISAI 2022 Official NFT to commemorate GEISAI #21, an artist incubation event on Aug. 21, 2022, at Tokyo Big Sight, can be viewed on OpenSea here.
The commemorative NFTs come in 108 different colors, each assigned via the NFT numbers. There are 11,664 unique NFTs total.
The current floor price is 0.04 ETH.
Winners of the Murakami Lucky Cat Coin raffle will have to wait a bit longer to see the results and mint, the project announced on Twitter Wednesday.
"Due to a large number of applications for the Murakami Lucky Cat Coin Bank, it is taking more time than expected to process all information," Takashi Murakami tweeted.
The announcement and mint will be delayed "a few days," he said.
The mint price for the winners of the raffle is set at 0.0727 ETH and there are 1,137 spots up for grabs. The floor price of the Lucky Cat Coin is 0.24 ETH on OpenSea.
For the first time in eight years, Takashi Murakami's GEISAI artist incubation event returns to Japan, and attendees will be eligible to claim a free commemorative NFT.
The 21st installment of the event, which was announced by Murakami in March, will take place on August 21 in Tokyo, Japan. GEISAI debuted in 2001 with a focus on developing the art market in Japan, hosting contemporary works from artists across a variety of mediums, including paintings, sculptures and ceramics.
Collectors who visit the 2022 event will be eligible to claim one of 11,664 NFTs that Murakami will make available. These commemorative NFTs will be created by combining 108 possible numbers and 108 background colors, and Murakami will use PreMint for the drop. At the event, "there will be QR codes on-site for the NFT airdrop," according to Murakami.
The GEISAI NFT airdrop comes on the heels of Murakami's Lucky Cat Coin Bank NFT, which was airdropped to Murakami Flowers NFT holders in June of this year. The 9,430-count Lucky Cat collection currently has a floor price of 0.27 ETH and has traded over 1,300 ETH in total volume to date.
The floor price of Murakami's main NFT collection, Murakami Flowers, has taken a hit in recent days, setting a new low of 1.65 ETH early this morning.
Takashi Murakami announced late last night that Murakami Flowers holders will be sent a tee-shirt reward based on a snapshot that was taken on July 10 at 11:59 p.m., GMT.
Those who held a Murakami Flower NFT at the time of the snapshot will be able to claim a free tee-shirt from the project's website prior to the end of day on July 31.
The tee-shirt design features an image of the Murakami Flowers logo with the text, "You are a Murakami Flower holder."
One of the most hyped projects to drop in 2022, the Murakami Flowers collection has bounced between a floor price of 2-4 ETH since dropping in May. Currently, the Flowers floor price sits at 2.22 ETH, while the floor price for an unrevealed seed is 3.75 ETH.
Murakami followed up the tee-shirt announcement by posting "Part 3" from his personal roadmap on Twitter one hour later. The roadmap lists the following items as next up on the agenda:
- Office
- Zingaro Yokocho
- Tonari no Zingaro
- Tonari no Kaikado
Several users on Twitter have begun to speculate on what these items mean, with one user linking the third item to a Pastry Shop in Tokyo. The shop's website features a variety of Murakami Flowers themed items and goods.
A snapshot of Murakami.Flowers holders is scheduled for July 10 at 7:59 p.m. ET, according to an announcement from artist and founder Takashi Murakami.
The announcement comes almost one month after Murakami apologized to his holders as the floor price hit 3.9 ETH, down from the first-day high of 5.3 ETH.
"Dear holders of Murakami.Flowers, I appreciate your continuing patronage, although the project's floor price and transaction prices remain stagnant. I am very sorry," Murakami said in a tweet.
The current floor price, as of July 5, is 3.7 ETH. About a week ago, Murakami teased the second part of his project called "Earthly Temptations."
