Pudgy Penguins and Cool Cats Battle for Cute Meta Relevancy

Pudgy Penguins and Cool Cats Battle for Cute Meta Relevancy

Pudgy Penguins and Cool Cats are neck and neck for the most expensive and relevant "cute meta" NFT project currently available, as the penguins flipped the cats earlier today for the first time in a long time.

In the last six hours, Pudgy Penguins are up 3.6 percent to a 2.59 ETH floor price, while Cool Cats are down 6.9 percent to a 2.56 ETH floor price. Cool Cats traded only 18 ETH in the last six hours, while Pudgy Penguins traded 136 ETH following a thread on their upside and importance to the space by influencer and crypto trader Kaleo.

Both projects announced news today. Pudgy Penguins revealed the winners of its recent IP contest and teased new IP opportunities for holders, while Cool Cats released new boss quests for its Cooltopia game and announced a host of new community members for its newest Community Council, a way for the community to be actively engaged in the decisions being made by the team.

What happens next is anyone's guess, but over the last few weeks, Pudgy Penguins has been rising and community sentiment seems positive. Cool Cats, on the other hand, are falling and community sentiment seems negative.

For example, Blue cats (@navernft) said the team must make changes on Twitter.

"The Cool Cats team must acknowledge their incompetence, reduce staff, and now return 50 percent of the fee to holders in the DAO method," they said on Aug. 10. "There are many talented people in the Cool Cat community, and more rewards should be given to them."

Lil Pudgys, Pudgy Penguins' expansion project, also flipped Cool Pets, Cool Cats expansion project. The floor price for Lil Pudgys is currently 0.15 ETH, while the floor price for Cool Pets is currently 0.12 ETH. Both projects are up multiple percentage points in the last six hours.
