Vincent Van Dough Takes on RTFKT and Nike?

Remember the drama regarding the Clone X terms of service? NFT personality and investor Vincent Van Dough has stoked the flames. Van Dough has directly challenged the clause regarding the inability to fractionalize assets by purchasing a Clone X asset and creating a vault for fractionalization on fractional.art

The act brings in to question whether or not terms of this magnitude can be enforceable on-chain and if so, how RTFKT, and now Nike, plan to deal with it.

NFT Market Updates

  • "Gazers" by Matt Kane has fallen back 28% day over day to a 2.42 ETH floor.
  • The last baby CyberKong was minted and the price of the collection (not including Genesis Kongz) has moved upwards ~40% to a 5.79 ETH floor.
  • CloneX Mintvials have continued surging higher on the heels of the RTKFT and Nike announcement. The floor sits above 12 ETH at the time of writing.

Clone X Reveal

On Sunday afternoon the long awaited minting and unveiling of Clone X avatars started. Nearly 15,000 Clone X avatars have been minted thus far, with the remaining 5,000 mint vials having up to six months to undergo the process. While the Clone X project has been unable to completely push away the "post-reveal drop" that has befallen many projects with delayed reveals, it has certainly held its ground with a floor price still north of 2 ETH. There is however, a wide discrepancy in price for the mint vials and floor Clone X avatars. At the time of writing users can purchase two Clone X avatars (2.39 ETH floor) for less than the price of one mintvial (5.17 ETH). For many, the opportunity to pull a Clone X with Murakami Drip or other rare attributes can make this risky trade compelling. Notable Clone X avatars have already seen trades above 50 ETH.

Unfortunately, it wasn't just the reveal that caught the eye of the public last night. A late unveiling of terms and conditions, license type drama, and the inability to fractionalize the Clone X NFTs all generated some buzz on NFT Twitter. The Clone X team has yet to make an announcement regarding any of these issues.

It's important to note that the Clone X rarity rankings are not final as there are still approximately 5,000 NFTs outstanding.

Art Blocks Curated: Jen Stark's "Vortex"

Jen Stark's "Vortex" collection is added to the prestigious company of Art Blocks Curated sets today at 1:00 p.m. ET. The set pricing will start at 5 ETH in Dutch auction format, decreasing in price every five minutes until the entire 1,000 piece collection is sold or it reaches the resting price of 0.1 ETH. The "Vortex" collection highlights the phenomena of the spiral, and its ubiquitous applications in the natural world.

You can learn more about the project and see an example print here.

Digital Animals Presale

The Digital Animals presale starts today at 1:00 p.m. ET.

A collection of 8,888 generative animals designed as crystals, each digital animal is said to hold a unique soul. Souls are derived via wallet analysis and Twitter sentiment analysis, using up to 20 different metrics. Additionally, the animals are expected to be playable in a Digital Animals game which is powered by Unreal Engine. Mockups of the game environment can be found on the Digital Animals website

Little Lemon Friends Reveal

After some discussion regarding an optimal reveal time, the Little Lemon Friends team has pushed back the expected reveal of their 9,999 piece collection until 8:00 p.m. ET tonight. The collection sold out around 6,000 pieces that were remaining after the private sale in about one hour yesterday.

NFT Market Updates

  • Despite "the flippening" conversations, both CryptoPunks and Bored Ape Yacht Club assets were down week over week.
  • After selling out in a flash during public sale last night, Thingdoms have remained steady at 0.17 ETH - the price they've held on the secondary market since presale.
  • Kevin Rose's "Proof Collective Pass" has done nearly 700 ETH in trading since launching on Saturday.
