Virtual Thanksgiving Parade Experience Features Notable NFTs
Staff Writer

A virtual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is coming to the metaverse.

Visitors to Macy's website on Thanksgiving morning (9 a.m. ET) will be able to view the virtual parade, which features historic balloons from the past 90 years. They will also be able to view five galleries from the following NFT collections: Boss Beauties, Cool Cats, gmoney, SupDucks, and VeeFriends.

A vote will also be held for visitors to determine which of the NFT projects will have their own real balloon in next year's parade. The first 100,000 voters will get a free Macy's "digital collectible."

Holders of last year's Thanksgiving parade NFTs and the aforementioned NFTs will have more voting power.

Users will also have the opportunity to mint a virtual gallery pass, from OnCyber, which will be airdropped Dec. 5. The virtual gallery passes cost $50, with all of the proceeds going toward Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

“As we countdown to the 96th Macy’s Parade, we are excited to bring this spectacle once again to the web3 virtual landscape with a fun experience that empowers our fans, collectors and our highly engaged Discord community,” said Will Coss, executive producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. “Our genesis collection of Parade NFTs last year was so successful that we wanted to give our digital community the opportunity to select a native NFT design to be transformed into a real-world Macy’s Parade balloon, while also creating an opportunity to raise critical funds for our partner Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.”

SupDucks x DraftKings "CrocToberfest" Goes Live Soon
Tyler Warner

CrocToberfest 2022 will go live this afternoon at 6:00 p.m. ET allowing everyone who registered for the SlyCrocs PREMINT to mint three SlyCrocs via the DraftKings marketplace.

Eligible minters will need a DraftKings account and a credit card to mint a SlyCrocs NFT. The mint price is $99.

The public mint will take place tomorrow, Oct. 11, at 6 p.m. ET, with the SlyCroc reveal coming 48 hours post-public mint.

What Are SlyCrocs?

For a quick recap, SupDucks has teamed up with DraftKings to create the first-ever PFP project on the DraftKings marketplace. The primary utility of the SlyCrocs, at least so far, is to unlock exclusive Reignmakers contests.

The SlyCrocs is "the brainchild of FrankyNines", the artist behind SupDucks, and there will be 2,500 NFTs in total. The team also told holders to "Keep your eyes open for airdrops, community activations, and more curated Draftkings benefits" for additional utility.

SupDucks is partnering with DraftKings to drop the first PFP project on the fantasy sports platform, according to an announcement Monday.

SlyCrocs is a collection of 2,500 NFTs from Franky Nines — the artist behind SupDucks — that come with access to DK dollar giveaways and packs and contests for DraftKings' new NFT-based Reignmakers game. The SlyCrocs also give holders access to the SupDucks Discord. The collection is set to mint Oct. 11 in the DraftKings Marketplace.

A thousand Premint spots will be held for SupDucks/MegaToad holders and users will need a DraftKings account and a credit card to mint a SlyCroc, which costs $99.

SupDucks Completes Pixel Ducks Airdrop
Bill Monighetti

SupDucks announced the completion of the project's Pixel Duck airdrop in a Discord announcement early this morning.

Pixel Ducks were distributed to SupDucks NFT holders based on a snapshot of wallets that was taken on July 17. Holders received Pixel Ducks on a 1:1 basis for every SupDuck NFT held on the date of the snapshot. FrankyNines, a founding member and artist of the SupDucks team, described his vision for Pixel Ducks as a "CryptoPunk level SupDuck," adding the pixelated ducks are "probably doper than the original collection cause it screams NFT." The Pixel Ducks collection is a celebration of the project's one-year anniversary, which occurred on July 17, the date of the snapshot.

Pixel Ducks is the latest in a series of companion collections that have been airdropped by FrankyNines and team to holders over the project's history. The rest of that list includes King Frogs, Mega Toads, MegaVolt Records, and other, more limited collections.

Speculators have remained largely indifferent to the Pixel Ducks news, as the SupDucks floor price reaches new lows below 0.2 ETH, currently sitting at 0.188 ETH at the time of writing. This is down from an all-time high price of 4.49 ETH that was achieved in September of last year, and a local high of 0.52 ETH, which was set last month.

SupDucks Updating $VOLT Tokenomics
Lou Sherman

SupDucks announced that its token, $VOLT, will have its tokenomics changed for how the token will be earned. The team recognized that there were some necessary improvements, and announced the plans to stop earning $VOLT passively via a Twitter thread on Friday afternoon.

SupDucks plan to transition the earning system of the token to a “Participate to Earn” model, to benefit those holders who are more active in the community. New features and ways to earn $VOLT in the ecosystem will be announced in the near future.

The first way to participate and earn will be through Twitter engagement. If you hold a SupDuck, KingFrog, or MegaToad and engage with the official @RealSupDucks Twitter account, you can be rewarded through $VOLT.

SupDucks will be integrating the ability to withdraw $VOLT, the team's utility token, according to a recent tweet from the team.

The team said that the function will most likely be added to the $VOLT page on the team's official site where users are able to claim and view their $VOLT.
