Sappy Seals PIXL Auction Ends Tomorrow
Julian Son

An auction for a first edition "Travelling Sealsman" collectible on Bitcoin runs through tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. ET, according to an announcement from the project.

❗ Why It Matters

Bitcoin NFTs and Ordinals were main topic of conversation for a time, right before both Blur and OpenSea put their own names up in lights last week. Sappy Seal enthusiasts can set aside all the chatter around Blur bids for a day, and instead bid their $PIXL on a first edition Travelling Sealsman genesis collectible on Bitcoin.

Free Ordinals are also apparently available for those that complete the quests.

The Details

  • Standard auction format where participants bid in $PIXL, with the tokens locked until the auction is over at 2:00 p.m. ET tomorrow.
  • The top 6 bidders will receive a random Digital Artifact (as the top 5 runners up will also get one).
  • Quests will be revealed incrementally. Each quest will also have free ordinals up for grabs, with later quests increasing in difficulty.

📊 By the Numbers

The leading bidder is currently travelingsealsman.eth [who notably spelled "traveling" correctly, and differently than how the Sappy Seals project spells it].

At the time of writing, 250,000 $PIXL converts to about 1.29 ETH (~$2,116 USD).

🎬 Take Action

Those interested in bidding (or completing the Quest 2 Earn "for the poors", as the website puts it) can go to artifacts.sappyseals.io.

Sappy Seal's Bitcoins Ordinal mint will take place tomorrow, Feb. 17 and will be open to the public and Sappy Seals holders, according to an announcement from the project.

❗Why It Matters

With Ordinals being the talk of the space for the past few weeks, Sappy Seals is providing a chance for holders and non-holders to get their hands on a Digital Artifact for FREE. More information will be released tomorrow, however, it seems to involve some challenges and the Sappy Seal's native token, $PIXL.

The Deets

While we don't have all of the information until tomorrow, here is what we do know so far:

      • It will incorporate $PIXL
      • The process begins tomorrow (2/17) at 3:00 p.m. ET
      • The Total Supply will be 101 NFTs
      • A BTC wallet is not needed.
      • A majority of the supply is allocated for Sappy Seals holders.

Sappy Seals will host a free, gamified mint on Bitcoin, according to a tweet from project founder wab.eth

❗Why It Matters

Bitcoin NFTs have surged in popularity and price in recent weeks as thousands rush to inscribe Ordinals on the leading cryptocurrency. Many ETH projects, including OnChainMonkey and Purrnelope's Country Club, have explored Ordinals as a benefit to holders, and now Sappy Seals will join the mix. Seals holders and the general public will have a chance to get their first Bitcoin NFT through the gamified mint.

The Deets

Only a few details have been released about the upcoming collection, but the most notable are listed below:

  • Sappy Seals holders will gain priority access.
  • The general public will also have an opportunity to participate.
  • The mint will be free, and will not require a Bitcoin wallet.

🎬 Take Action

Although there is not an immediate action, in response to a community member, wab.eth indicated that Seal holders may wish to stake their Sappy Seals NFTs.

Sappy Seals introduced Meme Machine over the weekend, a platform with generative memes, tailored specifically to your NFT.

In addition to helping build Memes, the Meme Machine website will be a place for holders to check out their personalized meme database. Want to use those memes quickly? Sappy Seals has a solution for that - Sappy React.

Sappy React is a Google Chrome extension that will allow you to insert custom memes directly on Twitter. You can download the extension here.

The project teased more about Meme Machine and its upcoming commitments to memes in a Discord announcement:

"This is only the beginning of the Meme Machine, with many more concepts coming soon, such as
- Editor: a complete meme creation suite for newbies
- AI Meme Generation: automation tools and creative inspiration
- Market-2-Earn: leveraging NFT communities as massive decentralized marketing agencies."

Sappy Seals also airdropped a soulbound NFT to holders, commemorating the launch and the new year.

Jenkins the Valet Announces Podcast NFT Partner Communities
Staff Writer

Jenkins the Valet announced the 12 NFT communities that have signed on as partners for the project's eight-episode fiction podcast on Wednesday.

Partner community agreements allow Tally Labs to 'set an episode in their world and use their name, logos, and key lore elements', according to the thread.

Holders from the partner communities will be able to fill out a backstory for their NFT, with characters featured in the upcoming podcast stories. One partner, voted on by Jenkins Writer's Room NFT holders, will also have an episode set within that project's community.

In addition to the 12 partners, many other NFT communities are also eligible to create characters:

Users can visit the Jenkins Podcast website to learn more and submit their NFT from the collections above for inclusion in the podcast.
