Latest The Memes by 6529 News
@punk6529 announced his Meme Lab project will airdrop POAPs to 5,000+ SZN1 Meme Card holders, sparking a debate on the value of Soul Bound Tokens (SBTs) this afternoon.
🔎 The Deets
- A POAP (Proof of Attendance Protocol) was airdropped to 5,000+ addresses that held a SZN1 Meme Card at the end of 2022 (though 6529 mentioned the airdrop was still in progress in their tweet).
- In the tweet thread, @punk6529 argues that movable POAPs provide useful information, and there's no harm in buying or selling them. Traditionally, POAPs have not been items that frequently transact on secondary marketplaces, but @punk6529 sees no issue with buying/selling POAPs. 6529 compares POAPs to program schedules in the physical art world, which are sometimes traded, particularly when they are signed by artists.
- To further the point, 6529 calls back to the project's policy of having the "Freedom to transact," adding it would not make sense to have POAPs in the ecosystem that are non-transactable.
🎬 Take Action
- If you held a SZN1 Meme Card on December 28, 2022, keep an eye out for the POAP airdrop in your wallet.
🎤 Founder Feedback
This is the kind of thing that someone might say 'but if they can move it or sell it, unfair, it should be bound to the address, like your soul, in a medieval horror novel!' And I will say to that: 'this type of nonsense, 6529 will not allow anywhere I get to choose.'@punk6529
Today, 6529 announced the release of the Global Digital Rights Charter v1 (GDRC 1).
2/ The GDRC 1 reconfirms established constitutional rights for the digital realm and encourages and protects the development of public commons in the digital realm (open source software, open file formats, public blockchains).
— 6529 (@punk6529) March 11, 2023
The Charter is here:https://t.co/V9Ejj1q1xq
❗ Why It Matters
6529 describes the GDRC as a statement of human rights in the digital realm. And it feels more pertinent than ever given what's happened in the last week, not just the SVB situation but also the US administration's proposals around doubling the capital gains tax rate, instituting a 30% excise tax on the cost of powering crypto, and classifying ETH as a security.
🔍 Need to Know
- The GDRC 1 NFT is a video that highlights the text of the GDRC 1 and was made by @6529er.
- Free to mint (+ gas), available in unlimited quantities. No royalties and it is CC0.
- The original draft was written by 6529 in summer 2022, and the current version was improved with the help of input from dozens of other people from various backgrounds and fields.

🎤 Community Quotes
Here is something to raise your spirits in tough times. This charter is extremely important, and we all need to feel ownership over making it great. Our digital future just might depend on it. This charter is not @punk6529's, it is all of ours.Ned Ryerson
🔜 What’s Next?
- 6529 noted that he would see what comes from the community over the next few months and perhaps release GDRC 1.1 or GDRC 2.0.
- He would like everyone around the world to continue to iterate on GDRC v1 via Github and contribute adaptations, translations, and so on.
- And if you agree with the principles of the Global Digital Rights Charter, 6529 encourages you to share GDRC 1 with friends, family, colleagues, and politicians, as it's about spreading awareness throughout society.

The Memes by 6529 are getting a new exploratory home and website at seize.io, according to a tweet from Punk6529.
❗Why It Matters
Most users explore NFT collections on marketplaces...which are notoriously bad at displaying relevant collectoin details and background information, or in the case of Blur - even bad at displaying the art (yes, I know, it recently deployed Collector's Mode). Now, users will be able to easily explore each Meme card and all relevant details all in one spot without distraction.
Beyond the Meme exploration, projects are often reliant on disparate homes for information sharing. A public Discord, Twitter, and beyond. The newest home will provide all necessary resources for those participating in or curious about the Meme ecosystem.
The Deets
Punk6529 shared a handful of other notes in his detailed thread:
- The minting URLs for Meme Cards or Meme Lab collections have not yet migrated, but will soon.
- Allowlist Philosophy
- Memes and Meme Lab License
For the time being, published allowlist for Meme Card drops will remain on 6529.io.
🔜 What’s Next?
Beyond continued website migration, Punk6529 indicated that the next step is "to implement on-chain delegation and consolidation in the coming weeks."

6529 Collections announced that Monday's drop is from @6529er and called "Prof. C. Richard Butt".
❗ Why it Matters

- The edition size is 690, and mint price will be 0.06529 ETH
- 116 out of 690 have already been airdropped to the 6529 team and the artist
- 75 out of 690 have also been airdropped: 1 to Cath Simard, 69 to randomly picked Authentic Summer (Meme Card #25) HODLers, and 5 to random Gradient HODLers

@punk6529 introduced Vincent Van Dough (VVD) as the artist of tomorrow's card in the Memes by 6529 collection in trolling fashion this morning.
❗ Why it Matters
VVD is one of the most notable collectors in the space, who has recently become more involved on the creator side. In late January, VVD dropped his Checks -- Pepe Edition open edition, drawing inspiration from Jack Butcher's popular Checks -- VV open edition project. Over the weekend, it was announced that Checks -- Pepe Edition NFTs would serve as entry tickets into Notable Pepes, a "Memes by 6529"-like art ecosystem that VVD is leading.
📅 Prepare for the Drop
- While we do not yet have the mint details, drops in this collection typically occur at 11:00 AM ET here.
- The ability to mint cards in this series is typically restricted to an allowlist, which is comprised of holders of works by 6529 and the featured artist.
🎤 Founder Feedback
One of the nice things about the meme cards is that you can learn about emerging artists who you might not have noticed previously. In that light, I would like to introduce tomorrow's meme card artist @Vince_Van_Dough. Lets welcome VVD to the world of NFTs.@punk6529
Punk6529 announced that the first Meme Lab minting will go live on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
🧐 Wait, What?
The Meme Lab is a contract for official Meme Cards artists to experiment under the OM/Memes umbrella. Beyond that - in 6529's own words - "there basically is no framework."
❗ Why It Matters
Not only will this give existing Meme Card artists a platform to build out their Meme Cards further, but in some instances, it could also serve as a lower price point entry into the Memes ecosystem. In any case, it represents another opportunity to Seize the Memes.

TylerD's NFT Market Summary
The Memes by 6529 were the winners of the weekend, with the floor jumping nearly 100 percent to 0.6 ETH and the cost of the full set up 50 percent to over 140 ETH.
🔥 What happened with the Memes?
The Memes were the volume leader on Saturday and saw over 2,000 ETH volume across the weekend in their biggest stretch to date.
Saturday night was the major rally, with the entire floor beside First GM reaching 1 ETH, before most cards retraced and settled into Sunday. The floor on First GM now sits at 0.6 ETH (it was 0.33 ETH on Jan 18), and the bottleneck card Nakamoto is at 36.529 ETH.
The driver for this rally?
It seemed to be sparked by the announcement Saturday morning of this next week of artists, which include 6529er (the artist behind the 6529 Gradient) and DirtyRobot, the Renga artist. Hopeful minters seemingly bought up Meme Cards on that news, vying to get on the allowlist.
Certainly other drivers helped, like notable whale Dingaling sweeping a full set mid-week, several buys on the top cards Nakamoto and Sgt. Pepe, and the success of derivatives like the Nakameebto from Sergito and the 6529 Complaints.
Now the question becomes - how will floors hold this week after snapshots for these big upcoming artists?
📰 What else happened this weekend?
Overall NFT market trading volume dipped back below the 20,000 ETH threshold on both days this weekend, coming in right around 18,000 ETH on Sunday.
The Sewer Passes held their ground through the weekend, with the T1 floor at 1.89 ETH this morning, and T4 at 5.64 ETH. The Yuga NFTs held strong as well, with BAYC back up to 69.9 ETH, MAYC at 13.9, and BAKC at 6.8.
Notably, 80,000 $APE has been spent so far for in-game boosters in Dookey Dash ($469,000), and $APE ended the week up 14 percent to $5.86.
The Memeland team announced questing went live for the Captainz on Saturday, enabling the first stage of reveal for stakers. The Captainz floor dipped briefly on the news but sits at 4.25 ETH this morning.
No news came from the Azuki team on Sunday, Chinese New Year, leading to some disappointment and the floors down to 14.2 ETH (-7%) and 1.52 ETH for Beanz (-5%).
Notable movers included KPMachines, debuting at 0.45 ETH yesterday on 500 ETH volume; Kanpai Pandas reaching ATH at 2.16 ETH; the PONZI NFT reaching 0.14 ETH (+120%); Dooplicators up 20% to 1.28 ETH, and Pudgy Rogs up to 0.54 ETH (+38%) after the expansion headlines (see below).
🌎 Around Web3
Some other NFT and Web3 headlines that caught my eye:
- Pudgy Penguins teased "Expansion starts soon" in a trailer Sunday afternoon, after Saturday's announcement of "The Pudgy soulTransport" enabling soulbound tokens for sub-communities
- Blur announced mobile support, starting with floor prices but with trading coming soon
- OpenSea released a new live-data update, showing pending purchases in real-time, arrows showing price changes, and a new listings feature
- Porsche shared new details for its upcoming mint, featuring a 7,500 supply at 0.911 ETH mint price
🚀 NFT Total Volume
- Sewer Pass (1,284 ETH, 1.89 ETH Floor)
- Bored Ape Yacht Club (1,037 ETH, 69.9 ETH)
- Mutant Ape Yacht Club (1,002 ETH, 13.9 ETH)
- Captainz (804 ETH, 4.25 ETH)
- Otherdeeds (659 ETH, 1.34 ETH)
📈 NFT Floor Price Increase
- Proceed w/ Caution (101%, 0.27 ETH Floor)
- Pudgy Rogs (38%, 0.58 ETH)
- PONZI NFT (134%, 0.15 ETH)
- Dooplicator (21%, 1.28 ETH)
- Wonderpals (25%, 0.15 ETH)
🗓 Upcoming NFT Mints and Reveals
Today is a very interesting day of new drops, highlighted by Porsche and Art Blocks.
First, there is no Memes card today as it was pushed to tomorrow.
The Porsche drop this morning is likely the spotlight today, though with 7,500 NFTs and a 0.911 ETH mint price, it's hard to see this one selling out. Of course, Porsche has a big name, but I have not seen a ton of community engagement or demand to warrant such a high price tag.
The Art Blocks drop "Ottocento" is a PFP collection, which do not typically perform well. It's on the lower supply side at just 120, which is a plus, but recent AB tailwinds are very bearish and with more attention on the Memes right now, it's a risky mint (unless you just want the art).
- Porsche 911 (11:00 a.m. ET)
- Ottocento by Berubara (1:00 p.m. ET)
- Top Shot Tour: Paris (5:00 p.m. ET)
