Creepz Migrating to New Contract Tomorrow
Julian Son

Overlord announced that it will be migrating its current collection of Creepz NFTs to a new contract on Thursday, March 2nd at 1:00 P.M. ET.

❗ Why It Matters

The new contract wiill add features that weren't possible in the current contract. The advantages of the new contract will allow for soft-staking, upgradability, presence across different chains, inclusion of "genetic cards", and enforcement of royalties.

What It Means

  1. Soft-Staking: cleans up collection data (such as holder count) on trading data sites and marketplaces
  2. Upgradability: allows team to build new features in that they're currently restricted from on the current contract
  3. Cross-Chain: Creepz will not just be tied to ETH, but any chain. This means the ecosystem can reach maximum distribution and allows for frictionless exchange to different chains
  4. Genetic Cards: brings a new dimension to collecting Creepz. A separate "window" on marketplaces such as OpenSea will show collector badges and stats
  5. Royalties: enforces royalties on Creepz NFTs, which will support investment into building out the Overlord brand

🎬 Take Action

Prior to migration, the recommendation is to remove outstanding bids on any marketplaces, and delist any listed Creepz.

Immediately after the migration, holders can exchange their legacy Creepz NFT for an Upgraded Creepz on overlord.xyz/exchange.

Overlord Has Big Gaming Plans

Overlord shared its vision to 100 million users, lead by gaming and borrowing from Pokémon's blueprint, in a Medium post on Friday

❗Why It Matters

While all NFT collections have ambitions of acquiring a rabid fanbase and millions of users, not all have laid out a plan or started to execute on it. Since rebranding from Creepz Genesis to Overlord, the team behind the Creepz Genesis NFTs have slowly but surely taken steps to act on that ambitious goal. The company recently signed with WME to help with brand expansion and its now unveiled gaming platform will act as another spoke in the wheel of IP it is rolling out.

The Deets

The expansive Medium post shares a handful of key points about the future of Overlord and its NFT holders. Most notably:

  • Brand goal of 100 million fans over next five years.
  • Overlord Gaming will be multi-genre, multi-platform gaming hub built by a variety of game developers.
  • An Overlord gaming token will be the overarching gaming currency.
  • Games will be cross-chain, interoperable, and composable.

Music NFTs? KINGSHIP, Overlord Join Spotify Pilot
Logan Hitchcock

KINGSHIP and Overlord have joined a Spotify pilot to explore token-gated playlists, according to tweets from the KINGSHIP and Overlord accounts.

❗Why It Matters

Token-gated experiences are normal for web3 communities, but this might be one of the first examples of a "web2" company collaborating in the same way. Now Overlord and KINGSHIP NFT holders, and presumably any other NFT community in the future, can access exclusive audio content through Spotify - a leading audio platform worldwide. A formal offering from Spotify to easily enable token-gated audio would offer more communities to join in on IP and brand expansion via audio (like Jenkins the Valet or COCKPUNCH), without the need to build something itself.

The Deets

The pilot is only available for Android users in DE, AU, UK, US, and NZ.

Follow the steps below to access your exclusive playlists if your NFT project is part of the pilot.

Overlord, formerly Creepz, signed agreements with entertainment group WME and Seth Green's Stoopid Buddy Stoodios to bring its IP to film and TV, according to a report from Hollywood Reporter

❗Why It Matters

While many NFT projects have ambitions to showcase IP on a grand stage, only a few projects have been able to sign with reputable agencies or entertainment studios. In this case, Overlord has achieved both, working alongside WME (which boasts clients like Adele and Alicia Keys) and Seth Green, an experienced entertainer that has fully embraced web3. It remains to be seen if any web3 brand can succesffully leverage its IP via film and TV, but Overlord is now working with groups that can help.

📊 By the Numbers

The Creepz Genesis collection had started trending up even before the team's announcement yesterday. Add in the $BLUR stimulus that hit markets yesterday, and the project's chart is enjoying green, up 23 percent over the last 7 days.

Ryan Carson, the founder of 121G and former COO of Moonbirds and PROOF Collective, swept three new NFT projects on behalf of his venture fund.

Earlier this morning, Carson announced a 30 NFT sweep of Martian Premier League, a football manager style game with human and martian character NFTs. The floor price is currently 0.12 ETH.

"We're so excited about the future of this project," Carson wrote on Twitter.

Next, Carson announced a 17 NFT sweep of Omega Runner, an upcoming racing universe. The floor price is currently 0.299 ETH.

"They pitched on NFT Whale Tank, and I was impressed by the team, the plan, and the funding," Carson commented.

Then, Carson announced a 15 NFT sweep of Creepz Genesis, which is part of a web3 entertainment company, gaming platform, television series, and fashion house that goes by the name Overlord. The floor price is currently 1.5 ETH.

"[I'm] impressed with founders Dom3 and Jo3 and their plans for the future," Carson wrote.

Creepz Genesis Jumps 31%

Creepz Genesis NFTs jumped more than 30 percent today according to the Lucky Trader Project Rankings page.

The major increase in volume and floor price came in large part due to a major sweep from Seedphrase, who most notably was the seller of the recent major Hoodie Ape and Zombie CryptoPunk sales.

Seedphrase swept at least 100 Creepz Genesis NFTs through three separate transactions, totaling more than 150 ETH or approximately $204,000.

Though the project did not announce any new information to spur the buying spree, the collection did reintroduce actor, board member, and partner Seth Green in a Twitter thread earlier today.

Green's production studio, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, will be leading the charge in turning the Creepz Genesis, or Overlord (the newly rebranded project name) IP into an animated series. The Seth Green news was initially announced on August 25.
