Frank Updates Future Plans in AMA Session
Bill Monighetti

@waleswoosh summarized a Discord AMA session held by Dust Labs founder Frank in an early morning Twitter thread that was later retweeted by the official y00ts Twitter account today.

❗ The Details

In the AMA, Frank hit on a number of upcoming initiatives within the Dust Labs ecosystem, most notably:

  • y00tpoints, the rewards program for y00ts holders, is one of the team's current priorities. Earned through staking a y00ts NFT, y00tpoints will soon be redeemable for rewards, which will "not be merch, but dope sh*t that no one expects," according to Frank.
  • y00ts will receive a forthcoming art upgrade, but the rumor that states holders will be able to purchase certain traits using y00tpoints is not true.
  • Operation MHL (which stands for Maximizing Holder Liquidity) is another focus for the project. Frank plans to provide y00ts holders with access to "top tier tools and individuals in web3 who will educate and enable them to make a bag in the space."
  • To help solve for the low liquidity in the Polygon NFT ecosystem, Frank mentions that "several team are working on solutions" that will soon enable y00ts to be purchased with mainnet ETH.

🔜 What's Next?

The above items are all expected to happen in Q2, and Frank expects June in particular to be a big month for the team.

The Forgotten Ruinverse Releases Massive Progress Update
Lennster

Forgotten Rune Wizard's Cult dropped a massive update on the development of the Forgotten Runiverse and an update on the global distribution deal for its upcoming comic book series.

The Deets

  • Unique city architecture and expandable neighborhoods
  • Diverse battle scenes for landmarks, dungeons, and regions
  • Varied enemies, skills, and status effects in battles
  • Rewards include customizable decorations for player houses
  • Economy design and whitepaper still in progress

The Details

Cities in the game have received a refreshing update, with each one now boasting unique architecture and a variety of explorable neighborhoods. Neighborhoods act as self-contained instances within larger cities, allowing for continuous growth and expansion as new content is released, keeping cities relevant to gameplay experiences.

The team has also made impressive progress on the game's battle scenes, with unique visuals for every landmark, dungeon, and region. Alongside these scenes, new enemy types have been introduced, each belonging to a "family" with aligned traits across basic, elite, and boss enemies. Skills used in battles now feature unique artwork and can inflict status effects depending on their type and strength.

As players achieve victories in battles, they can earn rewards that allow them to craft and customize their house decorations. To obtain the most impressive rewards, players need to delve deep into the game's dungeons.

Behind the scenes, the level design and programming team have been testing and defining collision for objects and environments, while the design team is refining the game's economy in preparation for the release of a whitepaper.

Why It Matters

Despite building since early 2021, Forgotten Runes has been overshadowed by many other "more shiny" projects in the NFT space. This update provides a glimpse of the major ambitions of the project as well as the potential its IP and lore hold. While many may be aware of the sums thrown at Yuga Labs, it's easy to forget that Forgotten Runes has also raised a massive warchest to tackle its roadmap

📊 By the Numbers

The Forgotten Runes Wizard's Cult holds a floor price of 0.8 ETH and has been pretty stable in that range, though down 13 percent over the past 30 days.

Knights of Degen Drops Its Purple Paper
Lennster

Knights of Degen, a sports-focused web3 community, is inviting players to embark on quests and challenges while earning rewards and discovering treasures according to its newly dropped Purple Paper

The Deets

  • Built on Knights of Degen NFTs and powered by DegenDAO and $DGEN token
  • Players create a Degen Identity, can participate in multiple rewarding initiatives
  • $DGEN token fuels the ecosystem with governance, utility, and rewards
  • Multiple verticals to participate in, including Degen Commerce, Degen Media, and Degen Sports Collective
  • Opportunity to stake Knights NFTs starting tomorrow.

The Details

The Degen Kingdom is a unique gaming ecosystem that combines fantasy sports, NFTs, and blockchain technology. Built upon the lore of the Knights of Degen NFTs, the ecosystem is powered by the DegenDAO and the $DGEN token. Players create a Degen Identity to participate in Bet2Earn tournaments, fantasy leagues, and more. By purchasing a Knight, users unlock the full range of features the Knights of Degen App has to offer.

The $DGEN token serves as the backbone of the ecosystem, providing governance, utility, and rewards for players. It can be used for in-game transactions, staking, and earning rewards. Developers can also leverage the token's liquidity and community to bootstrap new activities and games.

Beyond gaming, the Degen Kingdom offers multiple verticals for users to engage in, such as Degen Commerce (merchandise and products), Degen Media (podcasts, shows, and articles), and the Degen Sports Collective (digital art collection and trading). These verticals provide additional value and opportunities for members to earn rewards and enhance their Degen Identity.

Why It Matters

Knights of Degen has been fiercely committed to its core demographic, sports fans and fantasy sports enthusiasts that have embraced the "degen" mentality. Its Purple Paper represents a significant step forward in the convergence of those ideals and blockchain technology, enhancing its Bet2Earm product and formalizing the DegenDAO and $DGEN token. The brand has already engaged in innovative initiatives like its March Madness Brackets NFTs and bolstering its ecosystem infrastructure should allow it to continue building stickiness with KoD members.

❗ Why It Matters

Long considered the premier Solana NFT project, DeGods are leaving their home in a move that follows y00ts migration to Polygon earlier this week. There has been a lot of debate over where the DeGods collection will rank among Ethereum NFTs post-bridge, with popular opinion settling somewhere around the Azuki tier. DeGods has not disappointed in their first few hours on Ethereum.

🔎The Details

  • On April 3, a "Paper Hands Bridge Tax" will go into effect on the original Solana collection. Those who do not bridge to Ethereum will face a royalty fee of 33.3% should they choose to sell their DeGod NFT on Solana. DeGods on Ethereum will have a royalty fee of only 0.33%.
  • One lucky DeGods holder who migrates their NFT within the first 24 hours will win a BTC DeGod.
  • The first DeGod sold on Ethereum went for 11.1 ETH.

🔢 By The Numbers

The project's floor price on Ethereum currently sits at 10.4 ETH (or $19,000 USD), trailing Azuki by around 3.5 ETH. The floor price on Solana on Magic Eden sits around the same range, at 939 SOL, or $18,780.

y00ts Headed to Polygon Tomorrow
Bill Monighetti

y00ts will be migrating to Polygon tomorrow, according to a late night announcement from the team.

❗ Why It Matters

Back in December, project founder Frank announced y00ts and DeGods would be migrating away from the Solana blockchain, with y00ts headed to Polygon and DeGods following a hybrid approach, bridging to both Polygon and Ethereum. Polygon gave DeLabs a $3m non-equity grant to help facilitate the deal. Now, we finally know when this move will take place.

🔎The Deets

  • The announcement notes that holders will be rewarded for migrating within the first 24 hours.
  • NFT marketplace Magic Eden will be covering gas fees associated with the move, and will gift users $5 in USDC for every y00ts NFT listed on Magic Eden. Additionally, y00t trading will be fee-free on Magic Eden for the first 30 days.
  • y00ts will be airdropping one BTC DeGod and one y00t NFT to lucky winners 24 hours after the migration based on a snapshot of holder wallets.
  • To encourage holders to migrate, DeLabs will be enforcing a 33.3% PHBT (paper hands bridge tax) royalty fee on the y00ts Solana collection. This will take effect on April 3.
  • It was also announced that DeGods will migrate to Ethereum on March 31. More info about the DeGods migration will follow this week.
