Latest Valhalla News
Valhalla announced the launch of Battle Pass, its new loyalty program, geared to reward holders long-term holders of the Valhalla NFTs.
The Deets
- Every day an NFT is held, it levels up, with rewards improving at higher levels.
- Rewards are also enhanced for rarer types of NFTs.
- Seasonal structure, each lasting 120 days.
The Details
Battle Pass is similar in nature to PROOF's Moonbirds Nesting program, which levels up rewards for those willing to hold their NFTs for a longer period. The program emphasizes the importance of long-term holding, proposing a system where the NFTs 'level up' every day they are held. This concept creates a stark distinction between "long-term holders and short-term airdrop farmers."
At the end of each Battle Pass season, NFT holders earn a rank based on their level. This rank is then permanently recorded on the NFT, creating a lasting legacy of the holder's loyalty. Higher ranks and streaks also trigger more rewards, further encouraging long-term holding.
As they progress holders can also gain rewards on Stacked, Valhalla's web3 video streaming product.
❗️Why It Matters
The liquidity incentives provided by Blur and other financialization tools have in many ways discinentivized holding NFTs for a long period of time. Additionally, as prices edge lower, holders may be left thinking..."what's the point?" Valhalla aims to buck that trend, creating a loyalty program designed to benefit its real community of holders and users. It's not immediately clear what the benefits or rewards of the program will be, but response to the announcement was largely positive.
📊 By the Numbers
Valhalla is up more than 18 percent in the last seven days to a floor price of 0.51 ETH.
🎤 Founder Feedback
NFT projects reward holders with airdrops, but they often don't take into account holding time.We believe loyal, long-term holders should receive better rewards than short-term airdrop farmers. Because of this, we've created Battle Pass, a web3 loyalty program.Alex Lin
🎬 Take Action
Valhalla NFT holders can join Battle Pass here.
Valhalla project lead @notalexlin announced this morning that his project will be launching its own marketplace this afternoon in a Twitter thread.
❗Why It Matters
Creators have been the losers thus far in the marketplace wars between Blur and OpenSea, with both platforms minimizing creator royalties to remain competitive with each other, and we are hearing from NFT projects and industry figures who are considering building their own marketplaces in order to manage royalties.
🔍 Need to Know
- The Valhalla marketplace will have no marketplace fee.
- Lin says Valhalla built the marketplace for three reasons:
- To lay the foundations for a more experimental shopping experience.
- To build trust with the community by keeping their promises (Valhalla committed to building a marketplace before the project minted).
- To hedge against "unstable marketplace policies."

Tyler Warner's NFT Market Summary
Tuesday closed one of the most bullish days of NFT market action in months, as multiple new collections pumped 30-50 percent on large volume.
The day started off on a great note with CPI coming in under expectations, sending ETH and the crypto markets up 5 percent. And luckily for NFT traders, ETH over $1330 did not halt trading - in fact, the opposite. Total trading volume for the day came in at around 25,000 ETH (of which Blur captured ~60 percent), in the 3rd highest trading day since October.
While it was the usual suspects who caught the lion's share of volume (BAYC, MAYC, Azuki, Clone X), it was new projects who were the big winners. Valhalla jumped to 1.52 ETH (+44%), KPR to 0.27 ETH (+37%), JUUNI to 0.47 ETH (+34%), and Tim Ferriss's COCKPUNCH surged to 0.93 ETH (+29%). It was a sea of green on the board, and led many to ask - why are we pumping?
Well, there are specific answers for each collection, and I don't personally think these 4 sets ran solely because of Blur bid farming. Valhalla is up because new buyers from different NFT communities have come in, bought mid-tiers and rares, and touted their buys. KPR and JUUNI are likely moving somewhat in Valhalla's wake, with KPR having fallen too far post-reveal and JUUNI falling to some mint-day FUD. And COCKPUNCH is moving because Tim is debuting 4 new podcasts this week plus the debut of clan-based Twitter accounts, actively moving the story along (and it had probably over-corrected as well). The main question now is - how long will the pump last?
While Tuesday was a big day of market action, it was a slow day of Web3 news. Moonbirds teased a cryptic XCOPY message with the data 12.15.22, while XCOPY hosted a 1-year anniversary party for his Grifter holders in the project's discord. Rektguy founder OSF announced a new plan for NFT buybacks using his art and project revenue streams. VeeFriends has partnered with Day One for a Leadership and Operations Bootcamp. And the Mutant Cartel (a MAYC DAO spin-off) is launching the Mutant Hounds NFT project today using Fair.xyz's platform.

- Art Blocks Curated: Dipolar (1:00 p.m. ET)
- MNTGE Pass (11:59 p.m. ET)
Today is a really interesting day in the market after yesterday's bullish action. The main drop to watch is the Art Blocks Curated drop "Dipolar," which is the last Curated of this year and just 256 supply. While some of the frothiness has worn off, AB is still in a mini-bull run period. Low supply Curateds are always a draw (the recent 100 supply Pre-Process is holding a 6.2 ETH floor), and with a recent influx of flippers/botters, this one is likely to go high. It likely mints out in the 2-3 ETH range, but if it falls below those levels it becomes pretty attractive.

Tyler Warner's NFT Market Summary
Monday was a fast start to the week in NFTs, led by ApeCoin staking rewards going live, more Blur farming for the top-end Yuga sets, and big spikes in the Valhalla and rektguy projects.
At last night's tally, there was nearly $300M of $APE staked across the various pools, earning APYs ranging from 180% (APE-pool) to 284% (MAYC pool). The first emissions of rewards appear to have led to some sell pressure though, as $APE fell to $4.11 (-6.5%) while other crypto tokens like BTC and ETH were up 3 and 3.5 percent. The stability of $APE against this incoming daily sell pressure is one of the main trades/storylines to watch in the coming weeks.
Blur farming is continuing, as the top 5 sets on the board combined for almost 10k ETH on the day. BAYC, MAYC, and Otherdeeds took the top 3 spots, mostly chopping on the day as BAYC is at 66 ETH (-1%), MAYC at 14.13 (+1%), and Otherdeeds at 1.21 (-5%). Azuki took the 5th spot with its floor at 11.95 ETH (-2%).
But the main story was Valhalla, which surged 30 percent to a 1.05 ETH floor on 1100 ETH volume. There were several top-end sales, including a new ATH of 27 ETH on an Eternal, along with several mid-tier sales above the floor (the Mechs have been hot). The price action is very similar to Renga's before Renga made its big jump from 1 ETH to 3 ETH. Other winners on the day include rektguy, which finally hit 1 ETH floor and triggered founder OSF to finally get that tattoo. The gmDAO art pass is up near 6 ETH, and Tim Ferriss's COCKPUNCH bounced back after he announced 4 podcasts coming this week along with some surprises.
In Web3 news, major game studio Illuvium has released a new game "Illuvium: Overworld" in private beta as it aims to deliver the first AAA blockchain game to the ImmutableX blockchain. Tessera announced a new ApeCoin staking vault plus the launch of a Chromie Squiggle auction. Cool Cats co-founder Evan Luza announced that he is stepping back into an advisory role. And Playboy announced it will be celebrating its 69th birthday in the Sandbox metaverse.
NFT Total Volume*
- Bored Ape Yacht Club (4,720 ETH, 66.03 ETH Floor Price)
- Mutant Ape Yacht Club (2,820 ETH, 14.13 ETH Floor Price)

- Valhalla (1,213 ETH, 1.05 ETH Floor Price)

- COCKPUNCH (17%, 0.72 ETH Floor Price)
NFT Floor Price Decrease*
- Wolf Game - Land (-12%, 0.3 ETH Floor Price)
- Invisible Friends (-11%, 1.82 ETH Floor Price)
- Kanpai Pandas (-11%, 0.63 ETH Floor Price)
- end of sartoshi (-9%, 0.05 ETH Floor Price)
- Art Gobblers (-5%, 3.4 ETH Floor Price)
Upcoming NFT Mints and Reveals
- Ledger - Stax (12 p.m. ET)
- HTMKER (3:00 p.m. ET)
- DraftKings Reignmakers - Pixel Vault Packs (6:00 p.m. ET)
It is a slower day for new drops in the NFT market today. Ledger Stax is interesting at 0.22 ETH, because buyers get the Stax physical plus an art pass redeemable in March 2023. The price at 0.22 lines up with the Stax though, so the art is a bonus, and may lead to trading over floor.
Beyond that, expect continued attention on the secondary market for collections that can maintain attention (i.e. Valhalla). It will be interesting to see how rektguy holds up after hitting such a major milestone. The CPI data comes out today as well, in macro news, which could definitely impact the NFT market if it spikes crypto too much in either direction.

Tyler Warner's NFT Market Summary
The NFT market saw its biggest weekend of trading volume since May, with over 30,000 ETH traded on Saturday alone. So some project floors saw major gains, right? Right?
Sadly not, as most of the weekend volume turned out to be Blur bid farming. After all the trading smoke had cleared, most projects are neutral or slightly down from Friday. Here are a few roundtrip examples to highlight the price action:
- Azuki: 12 ETH (Fri) -> 14 ETH (peak) -> 11.9 ETH (now)
- Pudgy Penguins: 4 ETH (Fri) -> 4.94 ETH (peak) -> 3.96 ETH (now)
It was a similar story for Clone X, MAYC, and BAYC, although the Yuga sets were not quite as volatile. The BAYC and MAYC price action were a little disappointing, especially as ApeCoin staking rewards go live today. BAYC is at 66.88 ETH on Blur, with MAYC at 14.29 ETH, both basically even on the week. $APE did have a solid weekend, now at $4.39 (+5.5%), as traders jostle to find the best pools with the highest APYs.
The big winner on the weekend was Valhalla, which caught major steam across NFT Twitter and saw its floor jump from as low as 0.4 ETH in post-reveal trading to 0.88 ETH this morning. The action has included top-end and mid-tier sales (versus solely floor trading), which is a solid indicator of true interest in the collection. This price action is opposed to Tim Ferriss's COCKPUNCH, which is in a slow decline and is now at just 0.58 ETH (-10%).
A slower weekend of Web3 news was headlined by sartoshi announcing his return on Jan. 1, 2023, spiking interest in his open edition "end of sartoshi" (+400% to 0.08 ETH) as traders speculate on what his return means. The mfers project saw a brief run to 1.69 ETH (+30%), but since has given back all of those gains. The Ether project shared mint details, including a 1 ETH mint price. Scottie Pippen is set to launch a virtual sneakers collection this month. And digital collectibles firm Forum3 raised $10M to accelerate its effort to bring NFTs to branded loyalty programs.
NFT Total Volume*
- Bored Ape Yacht Club (3,504 ETH, 66.88 ETH Floor Price)
- Mutant Ape Yacht Club (2,937 ETH, 14.3 ETH Floor Price)
- Valhalla (1,542 ETH, 0.88 ETH Floor Price)
- Azuki (1,010 ETH, 11.9 ETH Floor Price)
- Otherdeed (780 ETH, 1.27 ETH Floor Price)
NFT Floor Price Increase*
- Valhalla (60%, 0.88 ETH)
- The Art Pass (38%, 0.5 ETH Floor Price)
- PartyBear (26%, 0.53 ETH Floor Price)
- Dori Samurai (24%, 0.43 ETH Floor Price)
- Humankind Lunchboxes (28%, 0.18 ETH)
NFT Floor Price Decrease*
- Kanpai Pandas (-13%, 0.34 ETH Floor Price)
- JRNY Club (-12%, 0.61 ETH Floor Price)
- RTFKT MNLTH X (-12%, 0.53 ETH Floor Price)
- rektguy (-10%, 0.86 ETH Floor Price)
- COCKPUNCH (-10%, 0.58 ETH Floor Price)
Upcoming NFT Mints and Reveals
- The Memes by 6529 - Tommy Wilson card (11:00 a.m. ET)
- Asteroids by Shantell Martin (11:00 a.m. ET)
- Art Blocks Presents: Miragem (1:00 p.m. ET)
Today should be an interesting day in the markets, as those who missed the weekend action catch up on this high volume and $APE staking rewards begin. The Meme card action has been disappointing as of late, but still a guaranteed 3-4x for anyone who mints. The Art Blocks project Miragem is likely the most interesting trade of the day, as the past few AB drops have been big winners.

Tyler Warner's NFT Market Summary
NFT trading volume was up again Tuesday, with OpenSea notching 7,400 ETH in volume. This was led by Valhalla, which dominated trading in its debut with over 2,800 ETH in volume. The project opened out of the gate at above 1 ETH, before retracing to the 0.7-0.8 ETH range for most of the evening, still a major win for minters who paid 0.5 ETH. The remaining supply comes out today and then the long slog til the reveal (in two weeks) begins.
But while Valhalla took the spotlight, the surprising winner on the day was Cel Mates, which rallied 39% to 0.77 ETH on solid volume. There was fear that Valhalla would out shadow and steal their spotlight, but some continuing FUD on Valhalla combined with its floor dropping from post-mint highs has led to some rotation back to Cel Mates. With mating and a burn function coming up, this is now the more fun new project of this recent duo.
Other winners included Justin Aversano's Quantum Key, up another 39% to 0.77 ETH, and Castaways Islands continue their grind back up, now 4.18 ETH (+16%). With rebounding SOL, the y00ts and t00bs floors look even stronger, with the t00bs back up to 197 SOL ($2,630) and y00ts holding steady at 111 SOL ($1,476).
Crypto markets dipping seem to have presented an opportunity to move on grails, as we have seen top-end purchases come through for BAYC, Punks, Doodles, and Penguins over the last few days. Is it grail season? This will be a fun trend to watch, though some tokens are rebounding fast (SOL +20% on the day, ETH +8%) so the window for cheap grails may not be open long.
Top headlines from the day were led by Moonbirds, which launched their official move "in-chain," as founder Kevin Rose touted how the move would lay the foundation for Project Highrise. Some market participants are now speculating that Proof could be building an Art Blocks or Manifold competitor. Magic Eden added support for Polygon, in another win for the major ETH L2, and Porsche has shared early plans for a "journey into Web3." Last, notable collector Vincent Van Dough announced the launch of a new digital art gallery called Art of the Millenium (AOTM), with a focus on enforcing artist royalties and already featuring several top artists.
NFT Total Volume*
- Valhalla (2,849 ETH, 0.75 ETH Floor Price)
- Bored Ape Yacht Club (1,891 ETH, 61 ETH Floor Price)
- CryptoPunks (1,271 ETH, 62.95 ETH Floor Price)
- Mutant Ape Yacht Club (447 ETH, 11.5 ETH Floor Price)
- Cel Mates (421 ETH, 0.73 ETH Floor Price)
NFT Floor Price Increase*
- Crypto Citizens (69%, 1.15 ETH Floor Price)
- Quantum Key (39%, 0.77 ETH Floor Price)
- Cel Mates (38%, 0.73 ETH Floor Price)
- Rumble Kong League (33%, 0.53 ETH Floor Price)
- Castaways - The Islands (16%, 4.18 ETH Floor Price)
NFT Floor Price Decrease*
- Non NFTs (-22%, 0.9 ETH Floor Price)
- Anthony Hopkins - The Eternal (-14%, 0.25 ETH Floor Price)
- Geometry Runners (-12%, 1.5 ETH Floor Price)
- adidas Originals: Into the Metaverse (-7%, 0.4 ETH Floor Price)
- Let's Walk (-7%, 1.39 ETH Floor Price)
Upcoming NFT Mints and Reveals
- Art Blocks Presents: Ingress (1:00 p.m. ET)
- Supercute World - reveal (2:00 p.m. ET)
- 3D Invisible Friends (3:00 p.m. ET)
- Money on the Table by Jason Martin x Diddy (3:00 p.m. ET)
Today is the busiest travel day of the year in the U.S., which begs the question if there will be enough attention on the NFT market for new projects dropping. But let's face it, most NFT degens probably aren't taking the day off. And there are some interesting drops, with a new Art Blocks project, a drop from Diddy, and a companion for Invisible Friends. The latter is likely the biggest drop of the day, with 5,000 3D Invisible Friends minting for 0.07 ETH for eligible allowlist minters. On top of that, we have the final supply of Valhalla coming out this morning.
My predictions: Valhalla leads volume again but chops or dips, Cel Mates continues its grind up, and 3D Invisible Friends is at least a 2x for minters. Good luck out there!
